Nationalist graffiti

Topical debate

Postby truru » Fri Jan 23, 2009 2:58 pm

I remember seeing (either a picture or in real life) of Cornish nationalist graffiti, saying something along the lines of "With fishing gone and mining too, what are Cornish lads to do?" (Probably not exactly right)

Where is this exactly? Is it still visible?

I have an image in my head of Camborne mineshafts/railway area, but I thought I would ask if it was still around before I went searching for it.

Ta

That's the one. Is it still there?

It is quite faded now and vulnerable to the regeneration of the area sweeping it away.

I remember one on the iron railway bridge over Arch Hill, Truro, where someone painted "Free Cornwall" and somebody added: "with every packet of Corn Flakes"

There are quite a few on structures at Botallack Mine; also at the Leswidden china clay dries, just east of St Just. One of the latter just says: Res yu dhym (I must). All are pretty old but still legible.

Your Zephyr was a fine car. Was it a Mk 1, ii, iii or the Mk IV V6 - the latter was something pretty damn amazin'!

The graffiti on the way into Falmouth from Penryn is just visable but the authorities have done their best to wash it away.

something about 'burning houses' I believe.

There's some graffiti appeared just off the A30 at Redruth over the last few days. I have photos but can't work out how to upload them.
