Those groups that will only give jobs to their "own".

Will only house their "own"?

Are bound to fail, surely?

The EDL are nothing but scum. It is a good job the Cornish can laugh at such things, perhaps if you lived in Bradford or Birmingham you would be laughing on the other side of your face.

I think you will find that it was not the Cornishman who was laughing at the EDL, and the other chap was attempting to laugh at the Cornish.
As for the EDL being "scum", do you not think you are being a bit harsh on scum?
Everyone, Cornish or otherwise, has their own particular part to play. No part is too great or too small; no one is too old or too young to do something.

“I think you will find that it was not the Cornishman who was laughing at the EDL”

If you say so, the EDL are not a laughing matter.

“and the other chap was attempting to laugh at the Cornish”

With a single laughing face, are the Cornish that funny.

Are you trying to make a sweeping statement about the Cornish (ie a group of people). You know there is a name for individuals who make general and insulting statements about whole people groups.

The E.D.L. are a minority group that do not reflect the opinions of the majority.

Like many minority groups, they share an idea that they are being "persecuted".

Was it because the “?” was omitted in my original posting that there has not been a satisfactory explanation?

No, rub us up the wrong way and you'll find that we're anything but funny. Other times, we're the salt of the earth. Rather like the Irish.

One might hope that the "English Defence League" might have the good sense to keep well off Celtic soil but, looking at the lesser-spotted brain cell that Paxman interviewed, I somehow doubt it.

Laughing faces are far from a deterrent, quite the opposite in fact.

I'm sorry, I thought it was quite clear, the "single laughing face" was posted by the Cornishman, in response to the other poster who was attempting to mock the Cornish. As I said, nothing to do with the EDL. I do trust that you are now satisfied.

You've made it quite clear that you do not consider the EDL an organisation to be laughed at, perhaps you would enlighten us with your opinion of the correct response to them?
