NewZealand has its own accent, but Southland which is at the very bottom of New Zealand, was settled by scots, and cornishmen. The Southland accent is diffent from other parts of newZealand because southlander pronounce the 'R's so is quite broad.

The influence of Scots in Dunedin means Dunedin is now 'more Scottish' than Scotland. But southland ,which is further south is where teh Southland acent which is probably influenced by Cornish who settled in te area.
