I am reseaching the story of a Alfred Roberts who become a Hermit, living in a Tin shack in a field at Cubert , he died 1987 I believe, It is a sad story he ended up there ,after he and one of his Brother fell in love with the same girl, he was rejected by her, and left home never to return. I am interested if anyone can remember any press news on him ever in any of the local; papers

That does sound like a poignant and heart-felt tale.

I, of course, have no knowledge on the man. However, have you contacted the local papers in the area to access their archives? It could be that all you need is stored on microfiche.

He sounds like a sad arse to me; one of those blokes that never got over his first major relationship issue and failed to move on in life.

"My bro took my bird, so now I have to live a live of suffering'.

Some local farmer should have shot him years ago and put him out his misery.
