Found one now in the death index - checking out now
Edenbridge Kent the place of my mothers birth, the registry office is now carrying out a search using our mothers birth and death certificate, to see if they can find a cross match, I live in hope....... :-)

Do you have a family records centre nearby? I think there are them in many counties. We have one in Truro (not saying though, that Cornwall is a county!!!)

You can search microfilm records there, and I know it can be a very long trawl, but might turn up names/marraiges etc in the very least.

just a quick update to let you know after placing a short note in The Sun newspaper "trying to find" section, I received a letter via The Sun from someone who is offering to help to me :-) well another avenue to travel down now.....

I have lift off :) thanks to the Cornish Times I have made contact with my sister, whose name is fact was Jennifer and her daughters name was Ruth, think the moral of this story is always double check your information especially names lol, and to quote a fact that in this case "the pen was mightier than the sword"

have exchanged lots of photographs and information, and hope to meet sometime soon, although I live in Middlesex so its a long way to go, but we'll get there one way or another
