Despite the result 8-29 loss a great day at Kenwyn when the Cornish Pirates entertained the Harlequins. A full house (6,000) great atmosphere despite the weather. It's days like this that makes rugby the REAL game.

Cornish Pirates vs Plymouth Albion quote the Pirates web site: "A local ‘derby’ game to savour – Easter Monday 17th. April, 2006 – k.o. 3p.m. ....." Camborne vs Redruth might be a local derby, Lauceston vs Redruth might just be called a local derby, but Plymouth? More of this westcountry speak rubbish I think!!!

It just so happens that the Cornish Pirates play in ND1, the nearest team to them in the same division is Plymouth Albion, they are our closest rivals so it's as near as damnit to a derby game.

If the cap fits. Sale v Leeds is a Lancs v Yorks clash, same intensity as a Cornwall v Devon one. Also the nearest clubs to Nottingham in ND1 are Pertemps Bees and Coventry. They would be called a Midlands derby probably.

You are right Andy, one of the best matches I've seen in ND1, perhaps the only one that comes close was our epic win against London Welsh 39-38 at the Mennaye a couple of seasons ago.
