I will be avoiding it, not watching any games, getting pissed off at all the coverage and my regular programmes being moved to make way for a bunch of overpaid primping dimwits kicking a bag of gas around.

I'll wait for the rugby world cup before I start getting tribal about which team I support, thanks. ;-)

I'll be supporting Trinidad & Tobago -yes, as will many people in Scotland as five of their squad play in the Scottish League.

Of course they wont make it past the first round, after which,to be honest, i will support anyone who is playing against England.
When England go out i will probably loose interest.

At least a celt did win it in 1998 Stephan Guivarch part of the French squad hailed from Concarneau!

I remember, prior to that, Stephan Guivarc'h playing for Glasgow Rangers.
He was not very good, to be kind, and was not liked and did not stay very long.

Perhaps there was political pressure by the French government to have a Breton in the squad so as to encourage Bretons to support France and have the "whole country" behind the team ?

No pressure, he was a form player when at Auxerre, went down hill at Newcastle suffering recurring injuries.
