Redruth based Storm Netball Club have been handed a home tie in the Preliminary Round of the Netball UK Challenge Cup. The club, which was formed last July and is playing it’s first season in the Cornwall League, will be at home to Norwich Division One side Thoroughbreds. The Challenge Cup is a brand new competition and involves clubs from across Cornwall and England.

Storm are looking forward to the match but their captain, Sadie White, knows it’ll be a tough game. “We’re pleased we’ve got a home draw as we wouldn’t have fancied that trip all the way to Norwich. We will certainly go into the game as underdogs with Thoroughbreds playing in Division One in their area but I know the girls will definitely give it a go and who knows what might happen on the day.”

Storm are currently unbeaten in Cornwall Division 5 and lie second in the table behind leaders Fowey with two games in hand.

The Challenge Cup game will be played one weekend in March. Details of time and venue will be announced shortly.
