I live in North Carolina and have just become co-owner of a sailboat, which we would like to re-name "Morveren", after the Mermaid of Zennor. I'm not, however, entirely sure how the name's pronounced--primarily, Where does the accent fall? Would someone please contribute a bit of phonetic guidance?

If we're to give the boat a Cornish name, we'd like to be able to say it properly.

Thank you.

Well, the subject line very much covers it. Thank you, Andy and Mike, for your quick responses!

So now you'll have a Cornish mermaid's namesake sailing the Pamlico Sound :-)
