NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE

HOTEL WELSH LANGUAGE BAN SPARKS ANGER

The Celtic League General Secretary is to enquire into an incident in which it is alleged that Welsh speakers employed at a Hotel in Wales were told they could not speak Welsh on health and safety grounds!

The issue is reported in some detail on this link at BBC Wales:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-13080586

The issue has provoked considerable anger in Wales and a facebook site set up to express dissatisfaction over the issue already has several thousand members:

This paper on the interpretation of the RRA may be of interest, parallels could be drawn as to whether the Cornish qualify as a protected group (indeed Cornish speakers get a footnote!) This is a few years old now. Has anyone researched recent case law? Clearly even the judges are confused.

Much less confusion now in Wales, in light of recent legislation here.

Faint o fynyddoedd am y "ymchwil i ymyrraeth â'r rhyddid i ddefnyddio'r Gymraeg"?

I have an edit feature. For ages after the site changed I didn't and then one day, around Christmas just gone, bam, it was there! I believe a lot of people, yourself included clearly, still don't have it!

That's why it's in "The Rest of The World" board.
Everyone, Cornish or otherwise, has their own particular part to play. No part is too great or too small; no one is too old or too young to do something.
