I saw it, was quite impressed with the amount of time that Mebyon Kernow got.  Most of the time was an interview between Justin Leigh and Dick Cole, Justin obviously had been egged on watching too much Jeremy Paxman and trying to do a no nonsense interview, but as we all know Dick is not new to this game of politics and easily shrugged off the aggresive nature of the questions. The tone of the interview I found I quite strange because I have seen a lot of spotlight recently and have not seen any similar type of grilling towardother parties, in the end I think it was better for MK becuase it got to the heart of the matter and once again Celtic nationalists proved not to be either bearded and sandaled hippies nor fiery eyed scowling loonies.

Anyway the link is below wont work on my puter for some reason dunno why, think its only available till tomorrow and for some reason Spotlights not put on I player!?! 7:10 through

It was also on Westcountry, a much tamer affair, remind me which broadcaster is bound to be fair and impartial???

This one was very short and upon reflection not as good as the Paxman parody, anyway skip to 5:55 through

Am I missing something? I've just watched the latest Spotlight online and didn't see anything about the election, or Dick Cole. Am I watching the right edition, begins with a story about Newquay?

I watched it too. Then about five minutes in they started talking about the 2nd leaders debate tonight and realised I was watching last nights program.

On the top right of their web page is says something about it being online from 22.30 tonight and that its 10 minutes long. Is that the normal length of time for that program? I don't have a TV so wouldn't know.

If you think you could be of help in some way – email  – you don't have to live in the Newquay/St Austell area either :)

Thanks

Dick Cole played a very active role in the campaign against the construction of a 240,000 tonne incinerator near St Dennis.

Living in St Austell and Newquay?

Do you live in the St Austell and Newquay constituency? What are
your big election issues?

The final debate in the series of
BBC Town Hall Debates is being held in Newquay on Tuesday 27 April. The
debate will be broadcast live from the Atlantic Hotel in Newquay. It
will be shown on the BBC News Channel at 1200 BST and BBC News online.

Party
candidates will be debating both local points and national issues.
Issues in Newquay include house prices, employment, rural poverty and
tourism.

The event is the last in our series of Town Hall Debates
- the first was held in

Bolton
West

and the second was in Stirling.

Mebyon Kernow's Dick Cole felt pretty sure he'd trumped his rivals' farming credentials by identifying himself as the proud owner of a "certificate in animal castration".

Conservative candidate Caroline Righton - who claimed she wanted to put the "F" back into farming - revealed she'd launched her campaign "in a milking parlour, in her milking suit and got covered in all kinds of things".

She'd also apparently been "taken to market", where she "didn't fetch a very high price".

The personal testimony of the Liberal Democrat and Labour candidates, though, illustrated one of the biggest problems facing the South West today.

Just had my "Tory" mother on the phone, raving about Dick Cole, telling me what a great speaker he is and how honest and straightforward he was!

She texted me during the BBC debate programme to that to say "your Labour bloke is a pratt"

Still haven't seen it, waiting for ipod…
