Keighlan - They played Plymouth Argyle while Pele was on the team - i think they might, because its practise isnt it!

Realistically the Cornish "National" rugby team have more chance of being recognised and playing internationals. It has been suggested in the past that Cornwall should apply for the European Nations Cup (sometimes referred to as Six Nations B) which is tier 2 and 3 for other European rugby nations. Others have suggested that perhaps Cornwall and the other Celtic nations should play in an amateur competition every year. Cornwall have played other nations in the past, Australia, New Zealand and France albeit their A teams, as well as playing the former Soviet Union and holding them to a 12 - 12 draw in 1990. The inclusion of Cornwall within the Commonwealth Games would highlight both the Football and Rugby teams although it is only rugby sevens that is played in the games. Graham Hart and his team ( not forgetting there are other people involved in this project) are doing a fine job to promote this justified cause, however it has come against some obstructive forces intent on not allowing such a thing to happen for our small Celtic nation.

Matthew Etherington of Penryn (Stoke City). I played football with his father. In recent years, there have been several others - among them Nigel Martyn, Kevin Miller, Wayne Quinn (he played alongside Alan Shearer for Newcastle United).
